included in the registration fees
The
Welcome
Party will be held in the Aula of the University at the conference
venue at 19h30 on Sunday, 25 August.
The
Organ
Concert will be held at 19h30 on Monday evening 26
August in the
Matthias
Church, located at the Szentháromság
tér. Participants are requested to get to the place of the concert
on their own. Organized transportation will not be available. Please do
not forget to take along your weekly ticket.
The
Excursion
will be held on Wednesday 28 August. During it, a Hungarian
folklore performance and horse show will be presented in authentic surrounding.
Dinner will be served at "Tanyacsárda"
in Lajosmizse. Participation is free for registered participants and accompanying
persons. Access by bus, departure at approx. 15h from the University parking
lot.
Additional tickets
can be requested at the registration desk.
The
Conference
dinner will be held at 20h00 on Thursday evening 29
August in the baroque Stefánia Palace (address: Budapest,
XIV. Stefánia út 34). Participants are requested to get to
the place on their own. Organized transportation will not be available.
This programme is not included in the registration fees for participants
and companions. The price of the ticket is 40 €/person. Bookings
for the programme should be made in advance on the registration form.
Accompanying
Persons' Programmes
Spouses of participants
are welcome at the conference site. The tour in the Parliament
is a 2-hour guided tour which offers the opportunity to visit the
impressive House
of Parliament on Monday, 26 August. After a walk around Hungary's
largest building, interior visit of the magnificent neo-gothic Parliament
(home of the Holy
Hungarian Crown and the coronation
insignia) with guidance through the splendid boardrooms and impressive
staircases.

After the visit
at the building of Parliament, a guided sightseeing tour starts at about
12h00. This will be 3 hours guided tour in Budapest by bus, organized
at the beginning of the meeting, enabling companions to get acquainted
with the city. Among several
famous sights the following places will be visited: Heroes'
Square, Basilica,
Opera
House, Buda
Castle,
Matthias
Church, Fisherman's
Bastion, Gellért
Hill, Citadel, etc. (picture
gallery). This programme is included in the accompanying persons'
registration fee. Departure is from the parking lot of Eötvös-campus
(conference venue), at 9h30.
Beside the tours
described above, two more optional tours are to be offered for companions.
Optional
excursion on Tuesday 27 August
Excursion
to Gödöllõ,
a half day guided tour (9h00-13h00) by bus to the former summer residence
of Queen Elisabeth organized on Tuesday, 27 August. It can be found
very near to Budapest. The town's greatest treasure and draw for tourists
is its 250 years old Royal
Palace. Visitors can see the living quarters of Emperor Franz Joseph
and Empress Elizabeth (Sissi), and the newly renovated palm house, holding
ornamental plants on exhibition. The capuchin abbey of Máriabesnyõ
and tomb of the Grassalkovich Dynasty will also be visited. This programme
is not included in either of the registration fees.
Price of the ticket:

€/person, including transportation, entry tickets, guidance and
refreshments at the castle buffet. Departure is from the parking lot of
Eötvös-campus (conference venue) at 9h30. Bookings for the program
should be made in advance on the registration form. (Minimum number of

Optional
excursion on Thursday 29 August
Excursion
to the Danube Bend is
a full day (9h00-17h30) guided tour in the surroundings of Budapest on
Thursday 29 August. For visitors starting from Budapest, Szentendre
is the southern gate of the region known as the Danube
Bend. We offer you a pleasant boat ride to get there and a stop over
including the visit of the Margit Kovács Museum, housing and outstanding
collection of her works in ceramics. The town owes its prosperity to Serbian,
Greek and Dalmatian settlers. (text in Hungarian, please look at the pictures).
In this picturesque town you find the seat of the Serbian Orthodox Bishop
where you can visit an outstanding collection of Serbian ecclesiastic art.
However, Szentendre is a shoppers’ paradise. We offer you lunch in a beautiful
restaurant in Visegrád,
halfway between Budapest and the religious centre of the country: Esztergom.
After lunch you visit the largest Cathedral
of Hungary and the more than 1000 years old birthplace of King St.
Stephen, the founder of the Hungarian Kingdom. Return by bus late in the
afternoon. This programme is not included in either of the registration
fees.

€/person, including transportation by bus and boat, entry tickets,
guidance and lunch. Departure is from the parking lot of Eötvös-campus
(conference venue), at 9h00. Bookings for the programme should be made
