Registration fee for accompanying persons covers:  Welcome party A guided sightseeing tour in Budapest Organ Concert Conference excursion Budapest ticket for unlimited use of public transport. Each participant is asked to wear the badge during all events of the conference.  Lunches are not included in the registration fee. The organizers will arrange three course quick lunches in the conference venue. The lunch ticket kit will be available for EPS-12 participants from Monday through Friday 26-30 August. Orders for lunch tickets SHOULD BE MADE IN ADVANCE on the registration form. The price of the 5-days kit is € 55. It does not include any beverages, they should be paid extra. Lunch tickets will be ensured only for those who indicate it in advance on the registration form.

METHODS OF PAYMENT

CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellations for the Conference must be sent in writing to the Conference Organizers. Cancellations received until 29 July 2002 will be a subject to an administrative charge of € 50. No refund of registration fees will be available for cancellations received after 30 July 2002.  In case of cancellation of hotel reservation the prepaid hotel deposit cannot be refunded.

INSURANCE

Participants are strongly advised to make their own insurance arrangements. The organizers cannot accept any liability for personal injuries sustained, or for loss or damage to property belonging to participants and accompanying persons, either during or as a result of the Conference.

GRANTS

The Organizing Committee (OC) is pleased to announce that the Research Directorate-General of the European Commission and European Physical Society have agreed to provide grants to a limited number of young researchers to attend the EPS-12 Conference.  Grants may be applied for young researchers (less than 35 years of age at the time of the Conference). Grants may be used for registration fees and/or hotel accommodation and/or travel coasts. Relative to travel costs, only costs relating to the cheapest fare among: economy class flights, second class train tickets, bus tickets from the place of work of the researchers to Budapest can be reimbursed. Costs relating to travel by private car will be reimbursed on the basis of the cheapest rail fare of the journey.  Request for financial support can be submitted to the Organizing Committee when filling in the final registration form. Although the original application deadline has already expired, a limited number of grants is still available on a first-comes-first-served basis. These grants come from the European Communities. Accordinly, only citizens of the European Union and Associated Member States are eligible to these late grants. A supporting letter from the Head of Department must be sent to Conference Secretariat by surface mail or fax in order to validate the online grant application. The OC may decide to provide only partial support. Preference will be given to participants having poster presentation especially taking part on Young Physicists' Poster Competition. The decision of the OC will be communicated to the participants as soon as possible. Young researchers are  researchers up to an age limit of 35 years at the time of the Conference. Allowance will be made for compulsory military or civil service (actual time spent in military or civil service) and childcare (maximum 2 years per child for the actual time spent off).
